Jogger Strollers at the Beach

Monday, June 29th, 2009

There are many people who have found out the hard way that standard baby strollers don’t work very well on dirt or sand like at the beach. For this application larger and wider wheels are required to make it through any of this type of terrain.

Jogger strollers are made for this purpose and allow for easier access at beaches and parks. Fixed-wheel jogger strollers are necessary as a swivel wheel jogger won’t work unless the wheel can be locked in place.

Having Fun with a Bike Trailer

Monday, May 18th, 2009

There are many people who don’t have a jogger stroller but enjoy biking and still want to spend time with their kids and expose them to the joys of being outdoors. The perfect addition for them is a bike trailer. It attaches to their bicycle and allows them to tow their children while biking themselves.

There are several kinds of bike trailers. There is one that looks like a bike with one wheel that attaches to the rear of the parent’s bike and has handlebars so an older child could hold on. They get the feeling they are riding too. Another kind is more like a covered cart which would be more suited for smaller children and pets.

Either of the choices can increase the workout for the parent since both add a little weight and resistance to the parent’s bike. Some bicycle trailers fold up very small for storage.
